PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY POLICY

 Thank you for your interest in photography and film at Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum (PWAM).  The following rules apply to various categories of photography at PWAM:

 

ALLOWED WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT AND FREE FOR PWAM GUESTS:

RECREATIONAL:

Photographs taken with smartphones or hand-held cameras for private use only. May not be published, sold, reproduced or otherwise distributed. No tripods, selfie-sticks or other equipment are permitted on Museum premises.

Portraits are not considered recreational photography.

Guests may not block exits, other visitors or Museum staff at any time.

Climbing, standing, sitting, or walking on any exhibits, vehicles or aircraft is forbidden.

Nothing in the museum may be rearranged, moved or otherwise handled by Guests.

Original artwork on exhibit in the Museum may be protected by copyright and should not be photographed for the purpose of reproduction. ­

  

NOT ALLOWED WITHOUT WRITTEN APPROVAL, PHOTOGRAPHY AGREEMENT, CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE AND PAYMENT IN FULL OF FEES:

COMMERCIAL:

Any photography or film produced for publication or promotional use.

PROFESSIONAL:

Any photography for which income is derived.

*PWAM considers portraiture of any kind to be professional photography even if income is not derived.

PWAM specifically reserves all rights for photographic reproduction of Museum property and other exhibits on loan. No commercial use of such photographs or video is permitted without written approval by Museum staff. In general, non-educational and commercial photography of Museum archives and property will not be approved.  PWAM reserves the right to license vendors, collect royalties, initiate fees or otherwise control use of Museum property, archives, and exhibits on loan. Requests by individuals  and companies will be handled on a case by case basis. Additionally, PWAM reserves the right to approve final content for anything in which the Museum, its exhibits, aircraft, vehicles, or artifacts, appear, either by name or by visual representation.

Upon approval of request, fee and scheduling will be determined. PWAM reviews all filming/photography requests on a case-by-case basis and reserves the right to prohibit photography in any area at any time.

 

MEDIA ACCESS

The Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum asks that onsite media/editorial (news outlets only) photo shoots be requested five (5) business days in advance. Requests made within the five (5) business day timeframe will be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Filming and photography in progress signage will have to be posted when onsite during regular Museum business hours.

FEE SCHEDULE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO AT PWAM:

PLEASE NOTE:

The fees listed are intended to give an estimate of cost only and are subject to change at any time. Depending on the needs and scope of the project, additional fees and/or security deposits may apply. The Museum will provide a quote when written approval is granted for a photography session.

The minimum fee is $200.00/hr with a 3-hour minimum or $1,400.00/8-hour day. A 30-minute allowance is included to accommodate load-in, load-out, set-up, and break-down.

In general, non-educational and commercial photography of Museum archives and property will not be approved.

HOURLY RATE:

(Basic rate, addl. fees may apply)

$200.00/hr, 3-hour minimum

 

DAILY RATE:

$1400.00/day

(8 hours, addl. fees may apply)

 

Cleaning Fee (REQUIRED):  $100.00 per room or area

 

PWAM Media Rep/Staff member (REQUIRED):

$35.00/hr per person

Required to be present at all times during shooting, if shooting is occurring in more than one area, multiple staff members or security may be required for the session

After-Hours Surcharge: $75.00/hr 

(Any activities occurring after 4:30pm)

COMMERCIAL/PROFESSIONAL PHOTO/VIDEO SHOOTS

Includes advertising (print, online, broadcast), promotional brochures and materials, corporate headshots, extended web usage, filming for movies, documentaries or television (other than editorial footage) and photography for books or products intended for sale. The Museum will review all requests and approve all filming and photography at its discretion. Requests must be made no less than 30 days in advance of the desired filming/shooting date. For purposes of this policy, use shall include filming or photography on the Museum premises for commercial purposes and for which the Museum will not own the copyright to the work created. All commercial filming and photography requires an indemnification agreement, certificate of insurance (COA) and fee. After filling out application the Museum management will respond with quote.

 

REQUEST APPROVAL FOR A PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION:

Please use the form below to contact us. The Museum will review all requests for filming and photography at its discretion and if it meets our criteria we will begin the approval process. Requests must be made no less than 30 days in advance of the desired filming/shooting date.

Please confirm that you have insurance and provide us complete information about your request, including dates, times, and the nature of your shoot.

Receipt of a request does not constitute approval. Thanks for your interest!

Approval Process:

  • The Film & Photography Policy application must be filled out before permission is granted accompanied with proof of liability insurance
  • No shoot is considered confirmed until:
    1. written approval is given
    2. Certificate of Insurance, signed Photography Agreement is on file
    3. Non-refundable fees are paid in full.
  • Proof of liability insurance (COI) will be required for any commercial photography or film production at the Museum.
  • All applicants must attend a walk-through of the Museum with Museum staff to discuss the scope of the request before the application will be considered by the Museum.
  • If the application is approved, the applicant will be asked to sign a photography agreement and pay a non-refundable retainer fee.
  • Photography or filming shall only occur after use of the Museum is authorized in writing, an agreement is signed, fees are paid in full, and a Certificate of Insurance has been received.
